Hope for Future Generations (HFFG) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) undertook a–day joint monitoring exercise in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District (THLDD) of the central region. The exercise formed part of project activities being implemented by HFFG on the GAVI Alliance funded project in the THLDD.
The project aims to ‘increase immunisation coverage and other RCH services in forty (40) hard to reach communities in the THLDD’ and is being implemented in collaboration with the GHS.
Hope for Future Generations joined the entire nation to celebrate the 2012 World AIDS Day at Jubilee Park, Cape Coast, on the 27th of November 2012.
The theme for the celebration was ‘Accelerating to zero; zero new HIV infections; zero AIDS related deaths; zero discrimination.
In attendance were high powered government delegation, led by the central regional minister, Ms Ama Benyiwa Doe; the Director –General of the Ghana AIDS Commission, Dr Angela El-Adas; representatives of the UN system in Ghana; Development Partners; Traditional Leaders; the Clergy; Civil Society; and a cross section of the general public.
