STRATEGIES

HFFG for the past eight years has been working with key local and international organizations towards the welfare of Ghanaian women and children in deprived communities.

Contributions from our implementing partners and donors over the years have been immensely supportive and we thank them all.

We also welcome support from any organization who will like to contribute to improving the lives of the disadvantaged and deprived communities in the Ghanaian society.

> SIMAVI Netherlands

SIMAVI of the Netherlands is an international NGO which stimulates and supports projects aimed at improving the health of the poorest populations in Africa and Asia.

SIMAVI has been supporting HFFG to implement the Child Survival and school water and sanitation projects for the past 3 years in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District of the Central Region.

Thirty five deprived communities and schools are currently benefiting from this basic innovative preventive health projects.

The ultimate goal of the project is to contribute to the reduction in under five and maternal mortality and morbidity by promoting and maintaining the optimal growth and development of children under five and improving the general reproductive health of women and girls in their reproductive age.

> International Labour Organization

ILO supported HFFG to implement a poverty alleviation project that supported 150 households whose children were with drawn from worst forms of child labour. 

> Ghana AIDS Commission

The Ghana AIDS Commission is a supra-ministerial and multi-sectoral body established under the Chairmanship of The President of the Republic of Ghana by Act 613, 2002 of Parliament to direct and coordinate programmes and activities of all stakeholders (Ministries, Departments, Agencies, the private sector, development partners, NGOs, community-based organizations and civil society) in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

In May 2009, Ghana AIDS Commission has signed a two year HIV prevention project in eight districts in the Central Region of Ghana.

Hope for Future Generations has  identified  and signed contract with eight  carefully selected   community based  implementing partner NGOs  who are  assisting  in the implementation  of  the HIV prevention project  in the eight districts of the Central Region.

>The Social Development Fund of the French Embassy


The French Embassy supported HFFG to establish a reproductive health and food processing centre for 160 rural women in the Mfantsiman District. The poverty alleviation project for community women will also focus on the reproductive health needs of the women and girls from the nine beneficiary communities.

> SWAA Ghana

Society for Women and AIDS in Africa (SWAA Ghana) is the local branch of SWAA International, a pan-African women’s organization committed to reducing the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and children in Africa. Hope for Future Generation is a registered member of SWAA Ghana.

SWAA as an umbrella organization builds capacity of its member organisations   working for women through advocacy. HFFG is the contact   organisation of SWAA in Central Region.

HFFG in collaboration with SWAA Ghana has been organizing sensitization meetings with the media, primarily on adult education.

> Mending Lives Foundation

Mending Lives Foundation is a gender- based non-governmental, non- profit making organization committed to the empowerment of women in their social, economic and political lives and the mitigation of HIV/AIDS among African Women and Children. The foundation provides technical support to HFFG.

 

>AED/SHARP

Has supported HFFG to implement innovative HIV Care and Support project in the 17 districts of the Central Region.

This project funded by the Academy for Educational Development/Strengthening HIV/AIDs Response Partnership (AED/SHARP) which was implemented in all 17 districts in the Central Region by HFFG has been completed successfully.

The project, which was initially to be implemented over a 14 month period, was extended by 3 months due to its high achievements in the region.

The project sought to strengthen PLHIV support groups, increase access to comprehensive friendly HIV and AIDS services in the Central region. HFFG worked with over 1,200 PLHIVs, 300 of their sexual partners and 27 PLHIV support groups.

The capacity of 50 PLHIV support group leaders, especially women were built. Through this project, HFFG in collaboration with Ghana Health Service and National Association of Persons living with HIV trained 23 “Models of Hope” who work as adherence counsellors at ART centres in the region.

The project ended with an impressive awards ceremony. All stakeholders who contributed to the success of the project as well as outstanding volunteers and models of hope were awarded with certificates.   

> STOP TB PARTNERSHIP WHO Geneva

HFFG was among few NGOs in Africa and Asia who benefited `from Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS)


A fund set aside by World Health Organization, Geneva to support community Tuberculosis advocacy activities. HFFG used the fund to advocate for TB/HIV integration and community support for TB and HIV/AIDS clients. 10 community advocacy clubs were formed for the advocacy activities.

The fund also was used to advocate for the reduction in HIV/TB stigma and discrimination in the beneficiary society.
